This is fully and completely inspired by the 'Kulkutautisairaalan kirjeet' local mystery in Tampere, Finland. For this project I'm illustrating a rabbit dealing with scenarios laid out in the letters, starting with the one I myself found in November 2024. A spooky visual user interface is built around the images using p5.js.
The nature of the source material is mysterious and the content of the letters can feel disturbing. This project is meant to be an homage to the artistic qualities of the original mystery.
Custom font Beth-Ellen v2.0 by Rob Jelinski Studios llc. Used under SIL Open font license v1.1.
Images drawn by me using sumi ink, colored ink and alcohol marker on A5 sketchbook pages. For extra spookiness the images are drawn in negative and then flipped and processed in gimp.
Flowers, angels, kittens, stickers etc. are scanned by me and processed (partly scripted) in gimp to be used in this sketch
The idea is to draw in questions one at a time, and I have no specific schedule for this.
Still a little buggy. Works best on desktop, but has some limited testing done on mobile too. The UI might improve and / or change during the project
